When should I take the SAT?
We highly recommend students to take the SAT and Subject Test 2-3 times each to have an opportunity get the highest possible score. Remember, students can choose the best score of all tests when submitting the college application. Here is a rough timeline provided by Long Island Tutoring Academy:
- 11th Grade (January): 1st try of SAT
- 11th Grade (May): 2nd try of SAT
- 11th Grade (June): 1st try of SAT Subject Tests (if applicable)
- 12th Grade (October): 2nd try of SAT Subject Tests (if applicable)
- 12th Grade (November): Retake SAT or Subject Tests (Recommended)
- 12th Grade (December): Retake SAT or Subject Tests (Recommended)
